How we integrate Barion
On WooCommerce and OpenCart we use the officially supported plugin; for custom systems we connect the Barion Smart Gateway API directly. Payment callbacks (IPN/webhooks) are processed server-side, so order statuses stay accurate even if the customer never returns to the shop after paying. We also implement the mandatory Barion logo strip, which is a condition of merchant approval — without it Barion won't enable live payments.
Fees and things to know
Barion works with volume-based, tiered transaction fees, with no monthly or hidden costs; the current rates are fixed in your merchant contract. Incoming amounts accumulate on your Barion balance and are paid out to your bank account on a schedule you choose. Alongside the integration we also configure the order and presentation of payment methods in the checkout — a small detail that measurably improves conversion.
