How we connect GLS
We integrate through the MyGLS API: labels and shipping documents are generated from order data automatically, the tracking number is written back to the order, and the customer receives an automatic email with the tracking link. We embed the parcel-point picker map in the checkout and configure shipping fees by weight or cart-value tiers — with a free-shipping threshold if you want one. For high parcel volumes we automate the end-of-day manifest too.
Fees and practical tips
Your courier contract with GLS defines the rates — worth renegotiating as volume grows, and we can advise from experience. COD carries a separate fee, which is why many shops make card prepayment more attractive — we build that incentive into the integration. We can also wire up the returns flow (label in the box or online return requests), one of the strongest tools for customer satisfaction.
