When should you choose Stripe?
If a significant share of your customers is international, Stripe delivers the smoothest experience: buyers pay in their own currency with the methods common in their region, while you see all revenue in one system. For subscription and SaaS models it's practically the industry standard — trials, plan changes and automatic retries of failed charges are all built in. For the Hungarian market alone it's rarely enough by itself, so we usually add it as a second gateway next to SimplePay or Barion.
How we integrate Stripe
We build on the modern Stripe Payment Element, which presents the payment methods relevant to each customer in one embedded, brand-styled interface. Webhooks are processed server-side, keeping order statuses, refunds and failed payments automatically in sync. For subscription models we also set up the Stripe Billing product and price structure, connected to invoicing that meets Hungarian VAT rules.
Fees, payouts, taxes
Stripe charges per transaction — lower for EU cards, higher for non-EU ones; exact rates are on Stripe's public pricing page. Payouts can be scheduled, even daily, to an account held in forint or foreign currency. Important: Stripe doesn't issue Hungarian invoices to your customers — which is why we typically pair the integration with Számlázz.hu or Billingo, so your tax obligations are fulfilled automatically.
